Reminders

Pack A Healthy SnackWe take a break for a snack each morning.  Please send your child with a healthy snack everyday.  Items such as carrot sticks, apple slices with cheese or whole grain crackers are always good choices.  No snacks with peanuts or manufactured in a factory that also handles/processes peanuts can be eaten for snack in the classroom as there are children in the classroom with  peanut allergies as well as your teacher who has a peanut allergy.  :(

Give Me Five Bag: During the cold winter months, when the snow is on the ground we will be going outside everyday unless the temperature is below 20 degrees. It is so very important that your child be dressed warmly for outside play. Please have your child bring a zippered bag with the following items in it:  a pair of gloves, a pair of boots, hat, and snow pants. Add those 4 items in the bag to the winter coat he/she will be wearing and you’ve got GIVE ME FIVE! Remember that these bags will go home at the end of day and should only be brought to school when snow is on the ground.
A huge part of kindergarten is building independence throughout the year.  We encourage students to carry their backpacks by INDEPENDENTLY, learn how to tie their shoes, open their own containers, chips, and juice boxes during snack and lunch, and zip up their own coats.  It is important that these independent skills  are practiced at school AND at home!  If your child has a pair of pants or a belt that is too difficult for them to get off by themselves in the bathroom, please practice at home before sending your child to school in those pants or belt.  Thank you :)
